DG 1001 Club neo

Next generation training two-seater

The DG1001Club neo is the entry point for clubs. With it we have the latest training aircraft on the market, which is ideal for basic and advanced training. With 18m wingspan and new “neo” winglets, the flight characteristics leave nothing to be desired. Excellent slow flight and stall properties allow the pilot to always keep control of the aircraft. An important factor, especially for training.

Training at the highest level

Training is the core of every club. It sets the course for successful training as a glider pilot.

With the DG1001Club neo you get the perfect aircraft to successfully accompany your students from the first start to the receipt of the certificate and beyond.

Flying – easy and safe

The neo winglets of the DG1001Club were specially developed for training. The handling is thus more harmonious and the stable properties are, as desired for a training two-seater, very good-natured. Coupled with the excellent performance for training aircraft, every take-off is used effectively and learning success is quickly achieved.

Slow flight:

With the front center of gravity, the DG1001Club neo can be held stable in deep stall. If you gradually reduce the center of gravity with the help of the trim weights, the tendency to tilt slowly increases. However, the aircraft remains easily controllable over the entire center of gravity and quickly ends the overrun condition when the stick is released.

Spin:

If you put the focus on the trim weights in the rear area, you can use the DG1001Club neo excellently for spin training. The aircraft can be brought in and out using standard procedures and has the behavior of modern plastic aircraft.

Unlike older generation planes, modern plastic planes spin alternately steep and flat. A property that cannot be simulated with old training two-seater in mixed or wooden construction. With the DG1001Club neo, the students are specifically prepared for the flight behavior of modern aircraft.

Performance:

The flight performance in 18m is comparable to that of old standard class aircraft. This means that the aircraft is also ideally suited for cross-country flights.

Flexible like no other

The DG1001Club neo forms the cornerstone of the DG1001 family. Various options make the aircraft more flexible than any other. Whether wingspan, chassis, water ballast or even drive. With the DG1001 modular system, we can adapt the aircraft to your needs.

Spans

Thanks to the separating point included as standard, the DG1001Club neo can be flown with different spans.

  • In the basic version, the DG1001Club neo is delivered with 18m wingspan and neo winglets. Ideal for training and pleasure flights
  • With a wingspan of 17.2m, the DG1001 becomes an aerobatic machine. It’s even for the Cat figurines. A approved, which makes it not only ideal for aerobatic training, but also enables the pilot to fly advanced programs and figures
  • The new 20m neo outer wings can also be attached. The performance increases significantly and cross-country pilots can enjoy a 20m two-seater! We recommend this option in connection with a retractable landing gear and, if necessary, a water ballast system in order to take full advantage of the 20m ends.

Undercarriage variants

The standard fixed landing gear is perfect for clubs and flight schools looking for a simple, robust training aircraft. However, if the aircraft is to perform other roles in addition to training, a retractable landing gear can alternatively be installed. This option can also be retrofitted to DG. The mechanical retractable landing gear is identical in height and position to the fixed landing gear. The nose wheel is also retained. An ideal combination for club operations.

Drives

If necessary, we can prepare your aircraft for the installation of an FES or a turbo system. Of course, the drive can also be built in from the start. An interesting aspect also in terms of value retention.

Water ballast

In order to keep the aircraft as simple and inexpensive as possible, we have refrained from installing water ballast. For customers who would like to be able to retrofit a water ballast system later, we offer a corresponding preparation. Alternatively, the system can also be installed from the start.

Set the right focus!

The trim weight boxes in the front cockpit and the trim box in the fin offer maximum flexibility in choosing the center of gravity. Light as well as heavy pilots can adapt the aircraft to their needs and as a teacher you get the rare opportunity to demonstrate the influence of the center of gravity in a simple way.

Is everything too complicated, time-consuming or dangerous? Find out here why this is not the case …

Trim weights in the cockpit are standard on all gliders. But the possibility of balancing the load in the cockpit with weights in the fin is not that widespread. Often these weights are used solely to carry out spin exercises. But in the DG1001 family the center of gravity can be adjusted for all flight conditions.

For many, however, inserting the weights is too cumbersome or bothersome. The easiest way to do this is to just leave the box empty. You can use the trim box, but you don’t have to . So it is not necessary to adjust the weights before each start. As with other training two-seaters, you fly with a top-heavy center of gravity.

In order to make the choice of the correct center of gravity as easy as possible, every aircraft is delivered with a trim table, which makes it very easy to determine the correct number of trim weights.

A simple way is to put the trim weights in the fin in the morning for the lightest pilot combination. Only in the evening should you then remove the trim weights again for the next day.

Only for spinning and aerobatics is it mandatory to fill the box in the stern according to the table.

Safe through training

The modern cockpit of the DG1001 with its firmly bonded structural elements ensures maximum safety. Together with the main wheel, which is damped by steel springs, the DG1001Club neo can absorb more energy than comparable aircraft in the event of a crash.

A high-quality interior with a modern, timeless design ensures the feel-good factor. The ergonomic seating allows long flights without fatigue even in the training variant.

To improve visibility in the air, a flashing light is available in the nose of the fuselage for the DG1001.

The integrated electronics can be connected to the FLARM and thus controls the flash interval depending on the collision warning levels. The video illustrates how it works.
